November 2009 News & Notes
Distillery News
First, we want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving, and express our thanks for your support this year! Without you and your love of great spirits, we wouldn't be here!
Just in time for your holiday shopping, we are re-stocking the distillery store, and will be running sales and specials starting tomorrow. We've got all your absinthe supplies (fountains, glassware, spoons), as well as distillery t-shirts and hats.
Molasses, Molasses, Rum
We're making rum! It started with a request from a mixologist friend, and it's the base for a great liqueur we're making for him. Now that we're making it, we're seeing what else we might do with it. Stay tuned!

Notes from the Land of Alcohol
Healthy Alcohol?
Former chief UK drug advisor says in 3 years, we'll have totally healthful alcohol. Of course, he also got fired for saying that LSD and ecstasy are safer than alcohol.
7-11 Launches Private Label Wine
Now you can pick up a pinot with your nachos or hotdog (or gas). Look out two-buck Chuck!
Maine Must be an Interesting Place
#1 - No English Lemonade
If you drink 28 bottles of this lemonade, you'll reach the alcohol level of a light beer. In Maine, that means you must be 21 to buy it.
#2 - Funny Rules for Tastings - before pouring a sample, a liquor store would need to paper the store's windows and forbid kids from entering. But kids can sit with parents drinking at a restaurant. Oops!
NOW has a Wine Club
"Like feminism? Like wine? There's a club for that." Apparently the National Rifle Association has one too.
