Commitment to Community

We've always been committed to our community, and feel that it is the responsibility of all companies, large and small, to be involved and support their communities when possible. In that spirit, we partner with a variety of organizations through donations of time, money, and in the creation of signature cocktails for fundraising events.

Unfortunately, we receive far more requests for donations than we are able to fulfill - in 2010 alone, we received at least 200 requests. We didn't realize just how many wonderful organizations in our community doing important work until we started our distillery. Because we can't sponsor them all, we try to focus on a few events each year that will have an impact for us and for the organization. We focus on supporting organizations in our community that are closest to our hearts, and those tend to be related to education, the arts, and helping women and children in crisis.

The following is a sampling of the organizations we supported in 2010, consistent with our 2010 theme of education:

Academy for Global Citizenship
Cabrini Connections and the Tutor-Mentor Connection
Griffith Tutoring
International Museum of Surgical Science
Lake Bluff PTO
New Horizon Center

In addition, we supported a few causes close to our heart, and to our community, including:
Green City Market
Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund
Music of the Baroque
Save-A-Pet (where we found our distillery dog, Sunshine)
Shawn Koch Foundation
Taste of the Nation

For 2011, we have selected the Local Arts Community as our theme, and we have committed to sponsor some events with small theater companies and arts organizations in the Chicago area. If you're part of a great organization in our community and want to talk to us about getting involved, please contact us.
